My Story
My name is Zack Cameron, and I spent years providing advice to some of the top asset managers in the world.
Prior to this, I attended graduate school at the London School of Economics (a top 3 university in the world), where I won an award for a university-wide Monetary Policy competition (judged by Sir Charles Bean). Before LSE, I attended Loyola Marymount University, where I graduated top of my class and served as the Head Asian Economics writer for a national honors society journal.

There are thousands of people with degrees from "top-tier" universities though, so what made my advice particularly sought after?

In short, I have a unique expertise in understanding the "plumbing" of the financial system. It sounds crazy, but there are truthfully only a handful of people in the world that understand how the financial system operates (hence why 'no one' saw the Great Financial Crisis coming).

I learned this very quickly during my conversations with hedge fund managers: it felt like I was speaking a language they didn't understand. Indeed, I was often told that "there is an asymmetry in knowledge" and that my analysis was incorrect, only to see these same people on Bloomberg months later repeating word for word what I had advised them previously.

Thus the impetus for creating Square One Investing. There is a dire need to advance economic and financial education, but the bureaucracies are simply too strong to do this within the "system". As frustrating as this may be from the perspective of a citizen (we have to live with the consequences of their ignorance!), this provides incredible opportunities for investors.

This platform will bring to the 'people' the cutting edge financial research that (currently) only a few people in the world understand. Readers will be provided with access to professional quality data (which typically costs ~$100,000) and expert analysis that helps distill down this data into actionable trading insights.
I hope you join me on this journey, as there is nothing that makes me happier than helping people understand how our economy works and how to invest effectively.
